Dawn uses photo references and sketches to help you compose paintings with multiple figures. From here, Dawn starts the painting based on the sketch, encouraging you to follow her exciting process! She begins with a charcoal underpainting and big shapes to place the subject, “drawing” with an eraser to establish a range of values. Then watch as she adds darks and midtones with pastel, building the painting slowly with layers of color and gradually more detail to a completed pastel composition full of life.
