Description
Capture seascapes in pastel with help from this video as you follow along with Liz Haywood-Sullivan to paint a close-up crashing wave! You’ll learn how to capture the movement of a wave in motion–the gorgeous sunlight that glows through the wave’s crest, the foam patterns, and the mist and spray. You’ll learn how easy it can be to paint water in pastel with layers of transparency.
Liz shows you how to start by underpainting the darks, then how to develop the water by adding a layer of sky reflections from above with your pastels. From there you’ll use your pastels to paint what sits on top, like the seafoam. And finally, add the lightest lights of water spray and mist, ultimately capturing the vibrance and life of the sea.
