Join artists from around the globe as they share their love of acrylics in our AcrylicWorks 11: The Best of Acrylic competition. The Juror of Awards for our 11th year is fine artist Joseph Gyurcsak, who’ll select a First, Second and Third Place winner, along with 10 Honorable Mentions from at least 100 finalists. In addition to cash prizes for top award winners, all works of art will be featured in a special publication presented by Artist Magazine and American Artist.

Awards Juror
Joe Gyurcsak
Whether painting an interior, still life, figure or landscape, Joe Gyurcsak (www.josephgyurcsak.com) has a keen ability to capture the essence of his subject matter with a bold, painterly approach. “I like to capture the fleeting moments of life and the sublime manifestations of light and color,” he says. The award-winning artist earned a BFA at the School of Visual Arts, in New York City, and has studied with many notable artists, including David Leffel, Quang Ho and Richard Schmid. The artist is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, the International Society of Acrylic Painters and the Oil Painters of America. Gyurcsak has been the resident artist/brand manager for Blick/Utrecht Art Supplies since 1998. He also travels extensively to give lectures, and conduct painting demonstrations workshops at major art institutions across the United States. He’s represented by galleries in New Jersey, Maryland, South Carolina and California.
