    here is my trout and my old sketches. I hope it doesn’t matter.
    It’s a new challenge every time, and I learn a lot from it.

  2. That trout was not easy. I was drawing him upside down, and sideways to get his proportion somewhat correct. Here he is on stonehenge 11×14, using vine charcoal, compressed charcoal sticks, and charcoal pencils. I read an advise that it is better to use the compressed charcoal, in any form, at the end of drawing, because it leaves almost permanent marks, hard to get rid off.

  3. I found working with the square charcoal a bit more messy. It does give a richer and better effect with it. This was my first time using the square charcoal.
